W203 - Loud Noise From Bonnet
Help! I am getting very loud noise from my c180 saloon. The noise appears to be from the front and occurs when I slow down the car to about 20 km/hr. It sounds like something is being dragged on the road. Once I increase speed, the noise seems to disappear. However, when i reach 60 km/hr, alas! the noise comes back again. Any idea what is the problem? Thanks in advance for the help!

can you describe the noise or pinpoint it anymore? turns? while braking, etc?
203's have TONS of front suspension noises so I need a little more info... |
Yes, the noise occurs when accelerating as well as when I slow down. Once I press my brake to slow down, the noise can be heard and it continues until I reached around 40-50 km/hr. Even without braking, at higher speeds >60 km/hr, the noise is still very around. Turning or without turning, the noise can still be heard until a certain speed is reached. Sorry I cannot be more precise as I am a technical idiot on car mechanism... :( Thanks!

What is a bonnet?
I thought it was something women wore on their heads, like in the TV show "Little House on the Prairie"? |
