I guess you got it fix ...but you don't want to tell the result

I have been member in this forum for about a year reading thru the posts almost every day and trying to follow up on them and posting my results after repairs and diagnostics.
I am doing all the repairs myself with the great help from this forum and from you guys.
Probably I have gone thru 80% of the threads so far and still reading.
What it puzzles me a lot is that in most of the discussions people are posting their cars symptoms and issues but just few of the member are posting the final result.
What was the real cause of the problem not just the presumptions.
I know that after your problem gets fixed you have in mind just driving and enjoying your baby, but think to the new people that gets register every day. They need to know the solution. When a new thread starts immediately someone is jumping in redirecting the poor fellow to a previous discussion that most of the time is lacking in the final conclusion. Don’t they deserve more….?

I know exactly what you mean. I read through pages and pages of one guys ordeal with a Benz that kept stalling. The story spanned 2 years. Then, boom, nothing. Its like everyone just lost interest and let it die.

Yes, there is a very good web site that offers EXCELLENT a/c repair and diagnostic advice. They make a big deal out of asking those who request help to post results.

There are other fundamentals that many of our posters do not follow such as giving model and year, and adequate details that people need in order to help them with their problem.

Have a great day,

Often the originating poster subscribes to the thread. How about posting a question regarding the results AND emailing them? It is too bad that others have to follow-up the one who they helped.

Im not sure if its the same one as LB was talking about, but I was at http://www.aircondition.com/wwwboard/
Its not car specific though, but they usually have answers within an hour or two. Plus you can search the threads.

I posted my first tech help thread about 5 years ago. Posted the results a few months ago at last when my indie fixed it...

...when I get my front-end vibration solved, I gotta go back and find the thread I opened last year!

Good point... some of these problems are never fixed. Maybe when a member sells a Benz with unresolved issues they can provide a link, to the appropriate thread, to the new owner and they can pick up where it left off.
