seat

On the back seat there are tabs i guess you would call them on the front outside corners of the bottom bench of the back seat. If you run your hand around the corner you should be able to fill them and push it in to release the seat. It will slide forward. I have noticed it helps to get it to release to bump or push on the front of the seat while you puch the release buttons. Also you will prob see this but when you go back on with the seat, there are locater like bars on both sides that line up the back of the seat bottom and guide it into place.

If you don't use an Optima, make sure you reattach a vent line to the new battery.

The Optima fits back there, but it is a little bit taller than the standard battery. Watch out for the positive terminal if you go that route!

You can attach a small 12v battery under the hood whilst changing out the main battery. Use the +12V connector intended for jump starting and any handy spot for ground. By doing this you keep your radio presets, radio code, window and sunroof auto-close programming, engine management parameters, etc. Less painful than reprogramming it all, especially if any of the aforementioned stuff is Greek to you.

I used an Optima in mine but got the one with the reversed terminals. Yes, the battery is slightly taller, but IMO doesn't present a problem, especially with the reversed terminals.
