Wheel bearings
 

85 500 SEC I have a vibration when coming to a stop. I think its the front wheel bearings. How hard are they to change?

In many, you're told that you need a dial gauge to set the wheel bearings.
Steve Brotherton(in one of these posts) mentions that there should be no preload..tighther than loose, but no preload.

I've adjusted mine a couple of times without the dial gauge, but did heed the no preload warning.

In my opinion, replacing 126 wheel bearings is about like replacing wheel bearings on any big beast car.

My 2 cents.

If you don't hear any noise while driving (humming or droning from the front, proportional to speed), then it is unlikely there is enough wear on the bearings to require replacement. Check adjustment first, but I also suspect you'd find problems other than the bearings more likely to cause your braking vibration.

It won't work for me if I'm using Mozilla Firefox. It works fine when I use Internet Explorer. I have no idea why.

Taint yer wheel bearings ol' son....likely wobble in rotor(s) or out of round tyre.

..............did notice that some after-market rotors are not the same as OEM...the vented rotors 'they' sell, don't have the same number of internal fins, often way less than OEM and not at the correct angles either...so there ! :D Now...THOSE will make it shake.

I too am able to access braingears from Internet Explorer.

When I accessed the 124 files there using Firefox, I found an error occurred because of misinterpretation of a backslash. I manually edited the URL to include a forward slash instead, and the appropriate pdf was accessed.

I also found the Shockwave directory to be tediously slow to load and display with my dial-up. The blank screen seemed to indicate a problem for a few minutes until the files loaded.
