560SEL Won't Start

After driving the car around yesterday having it working perfectly, I awake this morning ready to go to work only to find my car wont start.

I unlocked the doors get in the car, shove the key in the ignition and turn, i hear a UMPH and see some of the gages move a bit but the car doesn't do anything else. All the indicator lights go on and I can hear the speakers turn on.

I didn't have any time to pop the hood and check things out as I had to be driven to work right away.

I have no idea what the problem is> :x

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

dead battery

Sounds like a dead battery to me. Your alternator could not have been charging the electric system enough and drained the battery when you drove it around the other day. Today, dead battery no start.
Check your belts for looseness.

A couple days ago my radio died and ever since then I think its been drawing power from the battery. It was my mistake because I never disconnected the radio completely.

When i turned off the car I could still hear the speakers making static and the faceplate LCD still displayed a bunch of junk.

So I just need a jump, and to disconnect the radio?

DOESN'T sound like a dead battery to me - if it were, you'd have no lights or gauges while trying to start. Wiggle the shift lever - or try to start in neutral if your car allows that. Common cause is the shift interlock switch having bad contact or not actuating due to misalignment or wear of the shift linkage.

Whoops - crossed posts here! Best then to check the battery voltage before jump-starting. If the voltage drops significantly trying to start, then jumping should get it started.

symptom sounds like a drained battery....but, the cause of a drained battery could be a lot of things, which you need to troubleshoot....

I have read that you could blow a fuse in the OV relay when jumping the car.

I tried jumping the battery today but it didn't work. I hear a buzzing noise coming out of the engine but nothing cranks turns or pulls. Just the buzzing noise and then nothing. Everything is extremely slow in the car. Windows, sunroof, antenea, all operate extremely slowly. Whenever any electrical system is used(for instance pushing the power window button) the speedo jumps and depending on how long i hold it it can jump anywhere to 20mph to 60mph.

Help :x

youre battery might be toast. try swapping it with another, then check and clean all your ground cables.

Called AAA and they were able to jump start my car with a jumper pack. Promptly went to pep boys and picked one up myself.

Took the radio out and unhooked all the connections and reconnected them, after fiddling with the buttons, the radio works perfectly again.

Thanks for all your help!
