Question cruise control, headlight washer, oil in coolant.

I currently own a 1991 300E. I am having problems with my cruise control. My cruise control does not work or it will only work for a while and then shut itself off. the last time i used it it was making the car jerky. the car would speed up and slow down constantly. What is the problem?

I am also having a problem with my head light washer. there is no washer fluid comming out. I unpluged it from the resovoir and the water flowed freely from the pump. i took out the washer check valve and replaced it with a flow free one but it would just flow out through the headlight washer nozzles. What could possibly be my problem? Might i need a new washer pump?

I also have oil in my coolant. I was told I need a new head gasket and i am about to install myself since there is no one in my town that works on mercedes benz. any tips or advice?

Thanks in advance.

Whew! A lot going on for you!
The cruise control is likely your amplifier, that is located under the dash on the drivers side, but I wouldn't worry about that right now, also on your headlamp washer, take the pump out, there should be 2, one for the windscreen one for the headlamps, hook 12 volts to it and see if it works, if not the pump is bad, those going out are common.
Regarding your head gasket, if you have oil in your coolant, that is not a good thing. Is it a lot of oil? Do a search on the forum, there are detailed instructions on replacement. On the inline six it is not that hard, but be sure to take your time and follow the instructions, especailly regarding the timing, and if you have a variable cam, be sure to pay attention to that and it's position. Good luck!
Brian
