MB timing chain press
hi
does anyone have or know where to get the MB timing chain press tool for single row chains , it for the 16v i would be greatful thanks Dave 190e 16v c36AMG |
The timing chain press makes a very pretty crimp, but you can get the job done well with nothing more than a ball peen hammer and body dolly. If you don't have a body dolly you can use a bigger ball peen hammer.
Get the chain all in place with the master link inserted from the rear with the joint being at the very top. Feel of the plate and put the smooth side forward when putting in place. Back up with the dolly or big hammer on the back side and peen the pins with the other ball peen hammer. Peen down both pins thoroughly. This will not be as pretty, but will work great. Good luck, |
If you aren't in a hurry you can use mine!
