Just checking I have the right part. Is 000 822 1103 the Idle Speed Control Unit? Also, exactly how does one open it? I don’t want to break the tabs.

There is a part behind it that is #000 822 1003. What is that one? Appreciate any help on these issues.

Thanks for your response!

Unbelievable. The 107 Service Manual Library (CD) shows this to be the exact location of the Idle Speed Control Module. It also says "GEBLASEREGLER 12V". The other item said something like "tempomatic", which makes sense to the AC system, but I don't have that part on me.

Back to the drawing board. Where is the Idle Speed Control Module?

US & euro cars aren't always the same, if fact the idle control systems are different. The parts aren't interchangable at all. But the idle speed computer should be in that location that the A/C relays are mounted, smaller & black plastic housing with mounting tabs.

Thanks, Doc

I found it. It was on the far left side behind the glove box. It even says Idle Speed Control. DUH. I have read about re-soldering the connections, so I'm going to give it a try. I hope I don't ruin it.

I hate to give DIY a bad name. You must have outstanding patience to deal with idiots like me who like to fix their cars with barely any idea what they are doing. But sometimes we figure it out and it's extremely rewarding for me to fix, repair and maintain things, especially my cars. It fascinates me to the point that I fantasize about changing professions and become a MB Service tech. Maybe I don't have the ole gray matter... I'll let you know what happens with my SL.
