unknown wire

i found a wire w/ a metalic prong on the end .looks like it connects to the fan somewhere.Any ideas?

Well, we know you found it in Madrid,Ia. Could you narrow that down a bit?
Where on the car did you find it, and what kind of car?

My WAG is that it's the temperature probe for the outside temperature display. S'posed to be attached behind the front plate holder or somesuch.
