removal of speedometer pointer
 
I have my w126 speedometer(from the 300sel) out and I would like to know how to remove the pointer in order for me to take off the faceplate. Do I just pry off the pointer? I am afraid to do that... might break it? Need an answer ASAP as I am working on it right now. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Use two spoons to pry up evenly on both sides on the bottom part of the circular needle base.

Got it, thank you...

I ended up looking in and seeing that there is no other way but to pop off the pointer. So I put my index and thumb under the pointer and carefully made sure I was pulling up in a 90* angle as to not bend anything.
