When my mechanic does this job, He always has the head trued, and then laps all valves and seats. New guides are installed and all cams are checked as well as lifters. Camshaft bearings are also checked. He replaces any component worn beyond spec.
Your price seems fair if a thorough job is done...Your motor will be good for another 100k miles.
