Head rests in 1977 280SE

Hi all.

Pretty frustrated about this, but I cannot remove the
head rests from the front seats of this baby. I need to
as I want to remove the old seat covers that need a good clean.

I've tried just about everything except force, any help would be
greatly appreciated.

There is a button in the back of the seat that needs to be pressed while lifting the head rests. The button is hidden underneath the seat material and can be found by feeling around the top left of the main panel in the back of the seat back. The main panel is the one with the net pockets attcahed. It will be much easier if you do this from the back seat. Let me know if you still can't find it and I'll try to explain better.

Regards,
Michael
