Changing fuel pumps, need advice.

Before I get gas all over the place, I thought I'd ask for any suggestions for a tool to pinch the fuel lines off at the pumps? I thought about using locking pliers but that seems like it might butcher the fuel line.

Vise-grips are adjustible....you want it just tight enough to pinch it off but not tight enough to crush it.

You should be able to use a vice grip pliers. Just make sure you don't use one with the jagged surface.

I did it "GHETTO" style. I got a round stick and shoved in the end and clamped it. Got a little of gas spillage, but it worked fine (and I didn't risk damaging the tube)

I went the plug route. had my coffee can of old bolts screws...eyed some that looked close and wrapped the threads w/ some tape (not electrical..it's the type that molds onto itself and doesn't melt w/ gasoline), undo and plug. some spillage but not even close to what comes out w/ a filter change.
