2000 c280 horn not working- Where is the Fuse/relay please?
Horns died on the car today. removed them both for the 2nd time since buying the car. One is bad so I replaced both. Of course it didn't work. I figure it must be a relay problem. Where is it located? In the Trunk?
Thanks Rob |
Relay
Rob, here is a document giving you the complete relay location front and rear, once you find the relay send me the part number by email, i think i may have one extra if you need it, it is used, but works. let me know. by the way the units are called front sam and rear sam (signal aquisition module)

Carson, Thank you for your offer and information. I actually dug deeper and found a blown 10Amp fuse which I guess supplied power to the horn Relay. One of the aftermarket (Cheap) horns was shorted and took the fuse with it.
All is good now. Funny though when I first got the car and blew a fuse the panel under the fuse lid was incorrect. The dealer said that based on the car and build date the information under those panels are usually incorrect. I find this hard to beleive but OK it is wrong. Would you happen to have a PDF of the general fuse lay out? And one other thing. How do you get the cover off to access the relays. The front SAM is wedged under a a body panel (in front of the wind shield.) when you take the screws out of the fuse box you cannot lift the rear lid for access. Thanks Rob PS this is a great Forum. Thanks to all for their knowledge and support. |
