Hi,

Anyone know where I can get that center tail light reflector piece that makes the tail lights look like they are one entire piece across the rear for a W124? I'm looking for all smoke or smoke/red. Any info and pricing would be appreciated. Thanks!

Ashman 01-20-2001 04:27 AM

I'm not sure where to get that, but you can get a plastic insert that was used in 92-93 before the trunk lid change, which fills the space and looks very good.

I always thought the reflector ones looked kinda tacky.

But the body color insert looks very good, changes the look of the whole rear of the car in my opinion.

Add on 94-95 taillights, and you are set.

jdoc 7,
are you serious....???...
We always take out the reflectors between the rear lights as soon as we get a car in which has got that! It doesn't look good on a benz (but taste a matter of personal opinion!).

Go for the suggestion Ashman wrote down. The body color inserts look very good and were used by mercedes as well (on the coupe and convertible). Add on some taillights and you will be better of as with a reflector...(this is just my opinion).

Does anyone have a picture of this body colored center piece on their vehicle? If so, I'd love to see a pic of it up on this site or you could e-mail it to me. Thanks!

Could anyone tell me where I could find those body color inserts for sale.

Thanks

Rear filller!

I can use that info too.
need to know availibility,prices etc.
Thanks

MBenzNL 01-21-2001 10:04 AM

ebennz,

Additional pictures of this W124 convertible will be posted on my own web site (to be published before the end of the month I hope). I don't want to post a picture of the front yet, cause it has a VERY UGLY looking SEC bonnet  that HAS to be changed for a W124 E-class bonnet (with head light lenses).
I will point out the complete configuration of the car as well (euro models are normally not as complete as the US models).
The car is for sale (over approx. 14 months) and will go to the US within 2 months; there is only one problem to keep me from selling it in the states and that is pointed out in the following thread: www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?threadid=12241

I don't know anything about the US availability of the trunk filler, but in Europe you can order the complete conversion package ((euro)taillights and filler) for about $180,-; you can order it on-line and the supplier sends it all over the world...(if anyone is interested)...

Check out ebay also. Some people were selling them really cheap, b/c nobody wanted them. You can check out D&W, but I doubt you will be able to find what you're looking for. Most likely you'll be lost, but interesting nonetheless. The mags are so expensive.
