Hey all.
Its been a long time since I had a question. Actually the guys at American Service Center in Arlington, VA have been answering them, while at the same time charging me for labor cost. But they are the BEST MBZ place in the VA/DC/MD area. Anyway... here is a question I'm too embrassed to ask someone over there. Can a new C-Class grill be retro-fitted to a 89 190E 2.6? I recently had the car restored, new paint, wheel, etc... But I want to get rid of this old grill. I painted the insert black, but it still looks outdated... Has anyone heard of this? If not, I'll have to use the "modifying" skills the Army taught me at Ft. Bragg. Thanks.... |
No, the c-class grille will not fit a 190 - it is completely different. I haven't seen any other grilles for 190's that I, personally, feellook good. You can get a SEC grille adapter or an aftermarket SEC style grille insert from some aftermarket sources if you like that look.

I think I've seen an aftermarket C Class style grille insert for the 190e, not sure where to get it though.

In europe is a manufacturer of all kinds of unnecessary car-options called MHW.
They have a C-class grill adapter in their delivery program that needs to be welded to the original bonnet of your car. In this adapter a C-class grill ("93-"97 or "97-"00 or "avantgarde") can be installed. It does need some welding and repainting the complete bonnet is definitely necessary. thought to let you know... greetingz, |
