Does anyone (for sure) if the speedometer is directly linked to the odomometer in the 1997 E-300 D Merecedes? My speedometer stops working on occassions & I need to know if this is directly affecting the odometer reading? (other than personal observation).

The instrument cluster is a COMPUTER with digital displays! The speed input comes from the traction system computer! IF you are having problems the complete cluster must be replaced!
