mystery 722.303 transmission part
In disassembling my 722.3 transmission, I found this little lovely in the rear of the case. Anybody know what it might be from?

it looks
as if it might be a locating pin between two different bodies of metal, that will help locate them while the fasteners are installed.

If memory serves, as well as serving as alignment, it also aligns the detent pressure "spring" for the shift position lever (provides the "click" you hear when you move the shift lever), a pin that allows alignment of the detent spring so insertion of the holding bolt could be more easily facilitated while keeping the detent spring properly positioned.
