Trying to determine charge with low side only is a useless step. Surely you know someone who can connect a set of gauges so you can see where you're at with it.

I just bought a set of gauges off ebay, once they come I'll have a better idea, but I added some refidgerant and its blowing cold now so I'm still guessing theres a leak somewhere.

Time to use some UV dye and a black light with yellow glasses.

Thats what I'll do when its low on refidgerant again...at the rate it lost it this time it will only be a couple weeks, maybe less.

Yes, you're right you should always start a/c troubleshooting with gaugeS, plural. Monitoring the low side only doesn't tell you much. You need to connect a manifold set.

The two most necessary and fundamental tools necessary for a/c work are manifold set and thermometer. Number three is a vacuum pump.

Get both pressures and ambient temp before proceeding. Post that info here and we can help further.
