I have taken a look at some of the past threads about Brake Bleeding for ABS systems, I still am not sure if I need to do anything special for a 88 560SL ABS system. I do not have a pressure bleeder can I use the two man method? I replaced the front calipers and all 4 brake hoses. I can't seem to get any pressure to the rear brakes. Any and all help is appreciated.

If you mean that you need to eliminate all possible air out of the system, the two man method should do. There is nothing special about the brake-fluid in ABS equipped cars. ABS is an electronic addition to the hydraulic brake system.
Getting rid of the air in the fluid can be done by the old-fashion conventional method; you do not need a pressure bleeder for that.

Are you using the two man method with engine running? Some cars I've had require this, some work okay without the booster help.

The above may sound like a stupid question, but I had this problem the first time I changed the fluid in my 87 300TD. The reservoir has a divider in it for safety and has a very strange shape. The rear cylinder is also very slow to fill. The most forward compartment is the most visible and the rear is hardly noticeable. I have changed and bled brakes and master cylinders hundreds of times and I was completely stumped when I was just pumping air to the rear wheels. be549 (David) steered me in the right direction. Take another good look at your reservoir, fill it up and then try using the standard two man bleeding method.

Having just drained and bled my system (non ABS) the only other thing I would add, is to check and add fluid maybe every third crack of the bleeder screw. The new fluid is almost invisible if the system was emptied, which made it difficult to tell what the level was. Found it much easier to keep the system full to the brim.

Thanks for the help! We finally got the job done! We found a rubber plug to fit the reservoir drilled a hole in it and inserted a small funnel that we kept full.
