setting K1 clutch clearance
Setting the K2 clutch (722.303 trans) was pretty straightforward, but the K1 clutch has a large, belleville type spring plate between the piston and first steel. Assuming the clearance should be set with NO compression of that spring, how do I accurately measure that clearance? The difficulty I'm experiencing has to do with the fluid viscosity on the friction plates. How do I know when I'm done squeezing the fluid out but not compressing the spring plate any?
