Diagnostic Codes and finding an ECU
 

HI,

I am a first time poster, so please bear with me. I have a 1991 300e and I need to be able to get the engine diagnostic codes out of it. Does anyone know how to do that? Also I need to replace the ecu. Does anyone know what years are compatible with my car?

Error Codes
 

Try this thread. I'm working on my 1991, also california. Try pushing the button on the 16 pin connector for about 3 seconds and then count the blinks. If you have more than one error, you will have to do that for each one, until you get back to the first.
