93 300se, good car?

i'm looking at a 93 300se, 110k. looks to be in good shape. what are the known issues with this model?

that would be a 140

right? for me they are intimidatingly complex. the vacuum assisted doors and trunk for example, look like future trouble and what is the point?

that said, i am sure the basic mechanicals are robust. i drove a 300se not sure what year... it drove much smaller than they look.

The engine is good, but the wiring harness will need to be replaced.

The W140 chassis is really expensive to own, though, and shouldn't be purchased by the faint of heart.

1997 s320 154k (what a ride). Sold with 179k miles. Replaced with Hyundai Equus

1994 e320 Cabriolet 108k



1972 280se 4.5 153k Owned for 12 yrs, sorry I sold it

i thought the wiring harness issues started in 95. is this one another biodegradeable wiring disaster?

Actually 1995 was the last year of the biodegradeable wiring disaster.

All 1993-1995 wiring harnesses are bad, end even some 1992's.
