spark dies on 300e

its an 87 300e has been at the mechanics for months all tests turn up that everything is fine but once the car is driven for about 30 minutes it dies. and there is no spark at all
have replaced
crank sensor
ignition control module
coil twice
all relays with brand new ones
checked every wire we can think of
still cant seem to locate the problem the last thing i can think of is to put in a new computer. any insight from anyone would help (coulda sworn it was the coil or crank sensor but the new ones i put in test good)

spark

if it dies after about 30 minutes with no spark on an 87
then its probably a short... you probably have a bad coil or coil
wire and its dieing after it heats up....if only one plug was dieing this
car would run with 5 cylinders.. so its not in the distributor or
spark plug wires... the only other option is that the coil delivers
spark to the distributor...

for an electrical part to die once it heats up is not unusal...

Next time the vehicle dies perform a voltage drop test between BATTERY + and terminal 15 on the ignition coil.

If value is <.300mV I would direct my attention toward the EZL harness.

If the value is >.500mV I would direct my attention toward the ignition switch/power source.

BTW: Did you change the cap, rotor and wires? Faulty coils wires and bad distributor caps can be very enlightening on these beasts!

Exclamation still at it

i finally got the chance to get the computer out of the car but the only problem isthere are two computers and i dont know wich one to get the first one is bigger and has the numbers(bosch#0265101018)(mercedes#0055452132)

then there is the smaller one wich has numbers(bosch#0280800216)(mercedes#0055457232)

the smaller of the two smells kinda like an old tv or old computer not really burnt but you can tell its been used
the bigger one smells like just dust
the mechanic looked it up in alldata and it didnt say wich one was wich.
any help is greatly appreciated btw he said he tested the wires so if anyone knows wich one of these computers has to do with the spark please enlighten me

I had a problem with my 300 CE recently. There was no voltage (or intermittent) getting to the coil. Turned out to be bad wiring left over from an old alarm system. The supply wire for the coil is pink and red and is routed from the bulkhead into the fuse box(under the fuses) and then on to the coil.

Perhaps trace back to see if there is an interruption in the supply?
Best of luck.
