Need advice on documentation for 300e

Well the independant shop that has been doing all of our work wants 2300.00 for valve job, chain, tentioner, waterpump, and clean the radiator. I posted earlier about my wife's 1990 300e blowing a head gasket and trying to decide what to do(repair or replace), it has 215000 miles on it. It looks like we are going to replace it. I would ,however ,like to buy the cd's or manuals and try to do the repair my self over the winter. The car is still in good shape. I've read many posts and feel that with the right documentation and the help of fellow board members this may be doable. So, what manuals or cd's do you guys recommend. Secondly, be ready this winter for a million posts from me with questions. Thirdly, I'm looking for a replacement MB for no more than $15,000.00. Any I should stay away from ? Preferably in the 300 series size or smaller. Thanks guys.

I suppose you could buy some of the stolen property sold on ebay, or buy a real cd from this site.

If you have access to a high speed printer, check out this site. Lots of online MBDOC

right on

I will do it for you for a measly $1500. stay away from those cd manuals. I got jacked and bought a two cd set from "fastmanuals". they are used as coasters and frisbees for my tiny dog. the website linked above is all I use now. the head job is pretty straightforward. just make sure you have a helping hand when pulling the head and putting it back on.

Thanks for the reply I'll check out the site. I'm ready to attempt it now but the garage needs to be cleaned out first. How about a replacement vehicle, what should I stay awy from or be cautious of?
