Thinking of Buying a 83 380 SEC

I am looking at a 1983 380 SEC. It has 134K miles on it and the guy who is consigning it for the owner says that the low pressure A/C switch is gone and also the window regulator in the drivers door. The window goes down and not back up. With the age the car was driven about 6K per year that seems low. I have a call scheduled with the owner Saturday. Are there areas I should be concerned about with this year and model. Any idea what it get for mileage. The interior and exterior are in very good shape.

Anyone help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure this engine has been converted to double row timing chain or you will be sorry " 'til the cows come home "
That was the last year of single row timing chains ... infamous problem .. not cool..

what is he

asking for it? i have a 84 500sec. it has 128000 miles on it. it will get up to 19 on the hiway if driven moderately (65 to 70). it hugs the road like a sports car and rides like firm s class. the acceleration is very good. i am the second owner. the first owner was very rich and had three cars so drove it 80k in 18 years. i have driven it 50k in three. it is a very nice sound car that is very simple for a gas engine mb. no computers to the fuel injection. as simple as a diesel to maintain.

it is for sale, too.

To save the confusion, early M116.960 and 961 engines came w/single row chain.
