280-c Rolls After Putting In Park
 

My '95 C-280 rolls about 6" after you put it in park and let off the brake. This startles people that are outside the car and I don't like it either. Is there an adjustment for this?

The trick is to apply the park brake!

There is no adjustment. A new parking pawl and whatever part contacts the parking pawl might cut the 6" in half but it's probably not worth tearing into the transmission for that.

NOT using the handbrake after parking and BEFORE releasing the hydraulics can eventually cause the parking pawl to fail. It is not designed to hold the car, it is simply a safety interlock.
