I have a grey market 1985 280ce. It starts everytime cold, but after i drive it for 15 minutes or more and shut it off (if I start it right away it starts)for five minutes or more it won't start. It will start if I hold the gas pedal to the floor and crank on it about three times. Need help fuel injected gas engine. Thanks

Yes it is a euro

have you tried resetting the ECU on it?

Here in europe they suffer from "confusion" in the ECU, just disconnect the battery and leave it overnight, reconnect in the morning and take it on a drive, drive it normally and the ECU learns its fuel delivery etc again, it could just be that.

OR

Have you made sure you have the correct spark plugs?

OR

Have you changed the fuel filter recently?

OR

You could have sticky injectors!

the list above is what normally causes problems on that model here in the UK!

Good Luck! If its none of those above drop me a PM and i'll have a word with a few friends who still drive that model!

Thanks for the advice I'll try it monday. (sundays a day of rest). It's hard to find info on this model. I think they only made around 600. This was there last year. Thanks again. I'll let you know what I find out

this sounds

like a typical hot start problem. one person recently solved his by changing the check valve at the fuel pump.
