You think this guy is going for the single-bladed Mercedes look or what?

I think this guy is simply trying to make his economy car look as silly as possible. It's cars like this that make me glad I drive a Mercedes.

Just clap an eye on the Lexus line. If that ain't an MBZ ripoff then I'm Bill Gates.

Is it really necessary to clap an eye over the Lexus line? Didn't they also rip off the monoblade from MB? I may be wrong, but I think MB did it first.

MBZ did it before Toyota even dreamed up the word "Lexus".

It seems to me that mercedes is the only vehicle manufacturer to set trends and change the way cars look and drive consistantly.
In a world chock full of ugly cars, one always stands out above the rest, and it just happens to be the only car left which looks good with a hood ornament. hehe What I have also noticed, and anyone correct me if I am wrong with this estimate, is that at least 90% of all celebrities have at least one benz. Saw a thing on MTV showing off cars of some celebrities, and every celebrity they showed had a benz, whether it was a CL, S, E, C, etc etc. they all had at least one. Now while watching TV today on TNN all their horsepower and wrenchhead shows, are all about American cars. I'd love to see them take a benz and trick it out. There was some really cool mods they did to a diesel that made it so it could do crazy burnouts. hehe was really cool to watch a big ass Diesel truck burning up the rubber. Ooooo car and driver TV is on right now, they are doing an expose on the CL Benz. hehe should be a treat to watch them tear it up with that car. Alon

Just a random thought. This car owner obviously purchased a Honda, so it isn't a stretch to assume that the owner likes Japanese automobiles (not that I have anything against that). From that, it seems likely to deduce that the owner was actually trying to copy Lexus, not Mercedes. The humorous thing is that Lexus ripped off Mercedes. So this person is actually ripping off a rip off. Sorry, it was just a thought.

FYI, no Lexus EVER made has the single wiper design. I never did see what was so great about that design anyway...

Half the moving parts, better windshield coverage, easier to remove and troubleshoot, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound.

Guys, guys, guys these mods aren't to copy Mercedes necessarily. Then it is a copy of a copy. The German Touring and Japan Touring race cars all use these enhancements. Actually, the Mercedes borrowed this concept as well from experimentation from these race vehicles. I am guessing. People use to do and guess still do this since the early '90s. It is not a big deal. They also have kits to modifiy your wiper correctly. So, it covers most of the windshield and is fast enough to wipe the windshield. The only problem I have is that some people don't know what they're doing and the wiper isn't fast enough. Then, they can't see b/c the wiper isn't fast enough during a big downpour. Those are the people to be careful of during the rain. What is interesting is that Rally cars usually don't have these mods. There is a reason why. I saw a circuit car race in which, they modified a Eclipse's wipers from the roof down. His wipers stopped during, heavy rain and made him spinout during the race. Be careful of cars that modified the wipers during, the rain. BTW, why on the older W-126 cars do they have two wipers that one wiper only goes halfway? It is a good concept for the passenger. My wipers wipe from right to left. It would be more beneficial for left to right on those cars. Then, the driver would get double wiping. I know the second wiper is to help wipe the places where the first wiper cannot. I guess it is to not impair the vision like, why they put only one wiper for circuit racing. It is only beneficial to people in UK and Japan who, drive on the right not, for people on the left. It is weird. Germans drive on the
left like, us in the USA. |

You sir, are correct!!!
In the touring car championchips, the cars utilize a single wiper design for many reasons. Not only does it save weight, but it's more aerodynamically efficient. The person who owns that Civic probably wants to make his car look like a Touring Car. Keep in mind that in Touring Car championships, Honda Accords are plentiful! (But no Civics, hahaha) |

The ~77 VW Scirocco (sp?) is the first modern car I know of with a single front wiper. That predates the W201 by ~15 years. The second gen Jag XJ sedans also had a single front wiper. Why some XKEs have 3 front wipers is the next question.
To be sure, the MB design clears a lot more of the windshield with it's bobbing motion. I find the W108/109/114/115 wipers to be more effective than the W116/126/R107 wipers. Sixto 78 450SEL 91 300SE |

On the Scirocco note, I meant ~5 years.
