My 85 500sel euro is having problems like it is flooding when it starts and runs. Does my car have a carb or not one person says yes one says no. And if so should i rebuild it because it has never been done before. or what other things would make it look like the engine is flooding.
thanks

MB made no post war V8s with carburators. I would totally quit listening to the carb adviser. And I definitely wouldn't rebuild it.

Me Too (1987 560 SEL) flooding

I also am having a flooding situation. Last I went to the car it had a puddle of fuel under it (mid engine compartment passenger side, puddle location). I looked for and could not find the source of fuel leak. It started ok after that, then this morning it will not start. Turns over fine, I can smell fuel. No puddle I can see. All fuses are ok. Does not seem to be a spark. I'll try again when I get home.

I've heard of bad fuel distributers causing problems like that...
