Need Title Help! 1990 2.6
 

I have a 1990 190E 2.6 that I purchased as an abandoned vehicle. There has been discussion with the origional owner (w/ the towing company, not myself) and the title was promised to cover towing fees. I do not believe he will come through w/ it. Does anyone know if there is any way to get a title for a post 1990 car? I know several services that will obtain titles for anything 1987 or earlier and you can get one from the DMV here in NY for anything pre-1990 :mad: . Figures.
I don't suppose that anyone has a wrecked 1990-1993 2.6 and would like to get rid of the title :rolleyes: .

You could try a surety company that does title bonds. In my state,CA, they cost about $100. Not sure what years they cover, but it's worth a try.

Try the state of Alabama - they seem to have very liberal title laws. There are several third party companies there that offer title services. Try a Google search on Alabama car title or something like that - or you may be able to find it here with a search. A title with the wrong VIN is not going to do anything for you.
