C280 Water Pump replacement - Archives?
Hi All,
I was searching for a post on the procedure to replace a '96 C280 water pump and saw a reply that suggested checking the archives... I can't find the archive - does it exist? If not, is there a chance that someone out there could do a step-by-step on replacing the water pump? What I've gathered so far is that the fan and fan clutch have to come off, and then I guess there must be a tensioner or something somewhere... Any help is good help, and always appreciated. In the status bar above where the posts go, there is a link for "search." This is how you search the archives...
Do a search for "water pump," "M103 water pump" and "M104 water pump" and you should get some results that will be helpful. (Your car has the M104 engine, but I know there are a lot of posts on the M103, since I had to do one of those last year, and there may be some similarities between the two procedures.) |

Thanks, I'd better order some parts first...
Thanks anthonyb,
I had already been thriugh most of those posts and replies, and found some useful information, but as I was trying to get the 8mm allen into the fan pulley I noticed that the ribbed part of the belt had a cut right the way across it and am going to order that and the service manual cd before I go on. Thanks again, and happy motoring. Cheers, 94teener ___________________ '70 Porsche 914/5L GM V8 '56 GM Pickup |
