300E under hood insulation
 

Anyone install a "Under Hood Insulation Pad" I would like to know what I should use for adhesive medium (glue). Needs to set fast, hold up to the heat of the engine and stay attached to the hood forever.

Please do a search. Chances are your questions have already been answered.

The adhesive you are looking for is called 3M Super Trim adhesive. It comes in a spray bottle. Only get the Super Trim adhesive.

i never liked the 3m stuff for this. hit and miss and a pain.
we use contact cement. do a dry run. put some chalk marks to help align it.
then use the cement and align yer marks and set it and forget it.
the old insulation already had notches to align things with but not sure on yours. if the 3m is not used properly the insulation will fall off at sometime.

The hoodpad of W210 model is clipped to the hood.
On the W124 the pad is glued.

I'd also like to add that if you live in a hot climate (like I do) to use the OE cloth-type insulation instead of the hood pad made of foam.

I replaced mine a couple of years ago with one made of foam and it is already starting to flake and disintegrate to the touch. Most likely due to the extreme heat here in Houston.

I second this. This is a superior product, with a unique spray nozzle that allows terrific spray control. I did mine about a year ago and it's holding perfectly.

There are two Trim Adhesives made by 3M. People in invariable get the wrong one. The correct one is the SuperTrim adhesive as stated above.
