HomeLink Garage Opener programming

Im having some trouble programming the homelink garage door opener on my W202 mirror. My garage has the rolling code feature but the car still doesnt want to "learn" the code despite trying everything.

Any tricks or info on how to program these things?

Homelink Info

I had the same problem with my garage door opener. The MB manual directions didn't work and the door manufacturer recommended going to Homelink. Used Homelink's directions and it took a few minutes to program -- works great.

Good luck,

Is this "HomeLink" part of MB or a seperate company which makes the units for the MB mirror?

Just bought a CLK430 with the HomeLink feature. One step is not specified in the owner's manual:

After you do reset the buttons (per instructions), you need to first aim a coded remote towards the HomeLink sensor (in this case, the mirror). Hold the button on the remote control that comes with your opener AND the desired button on the mirror down until the indicator on the mirror flashes.

Note: Pushing the remote will of course trigger the opener, so don't do this while obstructing the door or gate!

Then, you push the "learn" button on the opener (should have a solid light). Go back to your car and press the desired button (the one you just sync'ed with the remote). The light on the opener should go out.

Your HomeLink is now ready for use.

Just printed out the homelink instructions and will try that.

2phast (Rik) also has the instructions on his website:

Despite following all instructions I still could not get it to recognize the code. I have rolling code garage.

Ahh...you ran into the same problem as me. The rolling code instructions are a bit tricky.

1. Program the homelink button with the garage door opener remote. (As if you did NOT have rolling code). This mean, hold the garage door opener close to the homelink unit, press the desired homelink button and the garage door opener button and hold until the homelink LED flashes rapidly
2. Now follow the rolling code instructions. I believe they are: press the "Learn" button on the garage door unit and then press the homelink button for 2-3 seconds. Repeat upto 3 times if necessary.

Try that.

I'll try that again but regards to the light flashing....it flashes about once per second and remains like that...doesnt do rapid flashing to show the code is stored.

Is this the first time programming this homelink? I doubt that <- but you could reset the thing by pushing and holding the outer two buttons until the LED begins to flash. Then try the programming steps. Just make sure you hold the buttons long enough to get the rapid flashing (20 - 30 seconds i think)
