Well it has been raining and snowing miserably here in NY lately and a new problem with my 84 500 SEC has come to light. There is a terrible water leak from the left side of the headliner.Problem is with the sunroof I think.Does anybody know how to remove the headliner without damaging it.Any insight would be much appreciated as the water is dripping directly on my leg

If you can get the car in from the cold, check the sunroof drains. Should be four, one in each corner. Carefully run some bailing wire through the drain tubes to clear.

Thanks Mike.i blem air through them this afternoon while the car was in the shop.they are clear and water runs out the drains. It seems to far up to be the windshied seal.Any other suggestions

After you blew air through the drains did you run water over the area to see if any is still getting inside? If it is, I think the next thing to check would be the sunroof seal. Perhaps it has lost it's integrity, allowing water to enter.

yes the water still runs into the car

Even if the sunroof sealing is leaking, the water should be running through the drains instead of dripping in the car.
I don't know exactly where your car is leaking, but is it possible that the hose of the drain came off the metal outlet of the sunroof drain? (just a thought)

greetingz,
