Benzmac:

You recently commented that a 1987 300E may be preferable to a 1987 300D. As someone who is actively looking for a 124 series, I am keenly interested in the experience behind your comment. Will you expand on this?

Thanks,
Bob

Yeah, Benzmac, what gives? I've just purchased a '92 300D 2.5 Turbodiesel and am interested to know why you don't like the Diesel W124s...is there one that's better than the others?

PS Saw a Typhoon today

Hey Mike!
I just wanted to say hi, since I have a 300D 2.5 and I know how rare they are.
E-mail me and we can chat about the cars or you can get me on AOL IM, my info is in my profile.

CJ,

I'd e-mail you if I could...your profile has somehow prevented me from doing so. Send me a message when you get a chance, as I'm interested in your impressions of your car.

About five years ago the dealer that sold me my 87 300D had a 87 300E (signal blue) with 120k on it that had just had a valve job. It was a beautiful car; took it for a drive. The car is much quicker than my diesel, obviously.

With what you can buy used E motors for and the rarity of the diesel..I'd go with the gas model
