Window Regulator W210 Details

The right rear window regulator failed and I have read almost every post about the situation. I have ordered the new part (awaiting arrival) and removed the door panel.

From looking at the regulator inside the door frame, I see that the wire is outside the motor assembly. Also the glass window sits inside an aluminum strip.

Question: Does the glass need to come out of this bracket or does the bracket attach to the regulator?

Also, should I take off the motor assembly before drilling out the rivets to remove the regulator?

The more details here the better.

Just follow these instructions from Gilly...

w210 rear windows regulator

I bought a heavy-duty hand rivet from Harbor Freight for about $15 to handle the 3/16" steel rivets.
