'92 500 SL Cruise Control Very Intermitent
My cruise is driving my crazy. It has a mind of it's own. Sometimes engaging immediately, sometimes taking several attempts. It will act fine for a while and then, if I hit a small bump, dip in the road or sometimes just freeway lane markers, it kicks off. It appears to work better when the car is cold and/or it is cold outside. I have changed the column lever and servo already. No joy.

Don't laugh but check your floor mat and see if its touching the gas pedal.

How are your tires? Are they the same size front to rear? Is the difference in circumference < 3/4" between the four tires? How are your brake lights? As well, how is the third brake light? Have you double checked all the fuses? Maybe replaced some of the fuses? Have you checked the brake light switch?
Just my immediate thoughts…. |

Thanks for the thoughts. In order: The floormat is fin. Tires are the same circumference, the brake lights are all good. I put in a new brake light switch as well. I checked all the fuses they appear fine.
