I was just curious to know if there were any substantial improvements to the 116.965 engine during its life (86-91). I was thinking if I buy another 420SEL, or need another engine in the distant future, are they all the same or were the later ones better in terms of more power, less emmisions and better mileage? Any cool technical improvements?

Don't know if there were any revisements but, why not a 560 engine instead?
