ML 320 - SRS light comes on
 

Merc 320ML 1999: I have an intermittent problem in that the SRS warning light come on for awhile and then goes off again. This occurs whilst driving. I understand that this light is for "Safety Restraint System" - Any ideas?

The SDS will store codes. The codes are very specific and will show the problem. You must visit an MB-specific mechanic with SDS.

This may or may not be related to your problem but I experienced the SRS light on but not intermittant about two years ago in a 99 ML 320. The repair invoice indicates that fault B1153 (front passenger seat occupied recognition) was found. The cables were checked and it was determined that the sensor in the seat cushion needed replacing.

I believe it was on ML's where there was an issue with the sidebag connector locks. They get replaced, but you do need to read the faults out to determine which one is setting the code.
