W124/M103 Coil Wire

Appears there should be one or more clips or something to help route wire from distributor to coil, but most of these appear missing from mine.

Can anyone

Describe how many and where the clips are secured?

(Yes checked archives--not quite complete answers in past threads)

(Nothing in Service CD either)

TIA

My 91 300SE had remnants of a clip on the dangling wire. I believe the clip attached to the top of the thermostat housing. I found a plug wire stand-off bracket for some American V8 and attached it to one of the thermostat housing bolts to suspend the coil wire.

I'm eyeing small hole in front side of engine lift bracket.

Also appears to be another clip that mounts to PS hose.

Ah yes, the power steering hose clamp. I believe that one is a plastic C that clips to the hose and a smaller C that clips to the wire. Both C's have posts that slide into eachother to form the clamp.

Someone with the proper clamp arrangement please respond!

The small C clip is 123 995 00 65

The big C clip is 115 995 03 65

There's a clamp 000 995 60 44 but it's not clear what it attaches the wire to.

Thanks for the part nos.

The small and large c-clips appear to fit together and mount to a power steering hose.

000 995 60 44 appears to fit into hole in multipurpose bracket mounted to intake manifold--bracket supports power brake vacuum hose and serves also as ground point for engine wire harness.

It's easy to see how this clip goes missing, as it probably has to be broken off to remove the coil wire. Mine was attached at this point with cable tie, which is "clue" I used to mount new clip there.
