Lighting Question: Xenon to Halogen?

OK, have no clue here, but for obvious economic reasons, I would like to outfit my 98 E430 with halogen headlighgts $250 instead of Xenon $800; whole front end munched. Will my computers work with the halogens? Will they plug into the existing harnesses?

I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

Jim

i believe they will work, the only thing is the front sam (Signal Aquisition Module) will need to be programmed from xenon to halogen. i have seen people go from halogen to xenon, so i know that works, not 100% about the other way around, but i wouldn't see why not.

Exclamation

On the 1998 E-class the headlights run off of the headlight switch/lamp monitor & don't go thru the front SAM as most nerer cars do. SO that is a plug & play!
