Red face Just bought time-warp E-320 95'

My 'new' car seems immaculate inside and out(87K, 1-owner, So. Cal car).

Is there a place on the car I should take a look at the wiring harness on this car so i do not experience this problem possibly in the future.

Also, I have heard these cars are goverened to 130MPH.
Can this be overridden, and are chips available for this car?

Thanks for any ones help!

If you do a search on wiring harness, you will find lots of information.

I think most of them will show evidence of the insulation cracking off the wires that feed the coolant temp sensor at the thermostat housing. Other than that, best way to see for sure is to carefully cut a small slit in the main branch of it and see if the insulation is falling off the wires inside and if there are any exposed wires.

Yes, the car is limited to 133mph, but as I never would have an oppurtunity to travel at those speeds I have never looked into a way around it.

With plans to go over 130 mph you should certainly check out the wiring harness. And while you're at it check out all the other parts on the car. And increase your life insurance and get your other affairs in order. The best way to tell for sure if the wiring harness is original is to check the part number, at the source plug behind the battery. A dealer parts person can then tell you if it's original or a replacement. If it's a replacement, and it probably is, you should be fine.
