280te starting issues

Hi,

I've got a 1993 280te which I'm having a few problems with. Basically it will not restart after a short journey. If you wait for around 5 mins it will normally start but lately this has not been working so well.

Any ideas?

you need to have your fuel pressure checked. might be loosing pressure
after you turn the engine off. also check yer cap and rotor.

I've heard that it might be the cold start valve. Does that make sense?

no, it does not make sense unless its the reason for
the pressure loss. highly unlikely.

a simple thing is the check valve

at the fuel pump. i heard of one fellow who solved his hot start prob that way.

btw variations of the hot start prob have been around for at least 25 years on the bosch fuel injection systems. it is very common and not easy to fix.

check valve and fuel pump relay may be the culprits. recently had both replaced in my 1989 300TE and seems to have solved a similar starting problem for me.
