Removing EGR tube on 1991 300ce m104
Hi,
1991 300ce 24valve m104 Ive read archived posts that stated over and over that the egr tube can be removed without removing the intake manifold. I dont believe this to be true because the bends are way to sharp. If I am wrong, can someone explain how to remove the tube without removing the intake first. And, where can I purchase a new intake? How much do they usually cost? thanks a.e.b. |

Every time I replace the egr tube, I remove the intake. I have heard that you don't, but I don't really see how you do it without bending the crap out of the tube. Why do you need to buy a new intake though? Did you mean to ask where to buy the tube?

thanks for the reply.....no, i just wanted to buy a new intake because all of the gunk buildup. But, now that I am sure that i have to remove the intake, im going to just send it off to get cleaned. Is there a certain procedure for replacing the intake gasket? Or do i just clean around the intake ports, place the gasket, and fasten the intake?

If I remember correctly, your car has a composite intake manifold. You just need to clean the surface on the head and replace the o-ring seals for the intake manifold.Good luck.
