Hi, I just got through checking for ACC actuator vacuum leaks today on my 300se (w126) with my mityvac because I was still smelling odors from outside the car. I had thought that it might be the switch-over valve, the rubber boots, the tubing, or the actuators, but 2 hours later, I found out that it wasn't any of them at all!
It turned out to be a plastic socket for the ball joint on the recirculation flap's linkage. Does anyone here know what the part number for that thing is? I called my local MB dealer and they were less than helpful, asking me the usual "do you have a part number?"...
To clarify, the color of the socket end is black. Imprinted onto the side of it is "springfix," the company that makes ball joints. It is screwed onto a threaded rod that attached to a hinge on the recirculation flap, which is located behind the glovebox. The socket "pops" onto a ball that is part of the linkage which the two recirculation actuators actuate to open and close the flap.
Thanks
