1985 300TD wagon-injector faulty?
Greetings,
I'm a new mercedes owner (bought the car in 4/05) and new to your site/forums. My question is...we just finished installing new Bosch glow plugs and relay that we purchased from your site, as our car was not starting in our Alaskan fall weather. When we pulled out the glow plugs we found that one of the glow plugs was bent at the hot end (unfortunately we did not keep track of what cylinder). Does this suggest that we have a bad injector at that cylinder? Should we replace all the injectors if we have one that is bad - (we would keep the old ones and eventually have them tested). Also I performed a fuel purge 2 months ago to try and flush out the system and injectors. Thanks - I love my new 20 year old car! |

Injector probs won't bend the Glow Plug however if someone before you tried to pull the prechamber out without removing the plug then it would bend it ,Is the car running and starting ok ? if so then you fixed the Glow Plug by repacing it .

85 300td injector problems/reply
My 85 300td is starting fine now. So i guess we fixed the problem just by replacing the glow plugs.

Don't replace injectors until you have them tested. Even then you can replace just parts of an injector.
