Resetting FSS
 
Have 2000 230 Kompressor How to reset FSS after service. Directions in the owners manuel don't work. Help much appreciated. Thank you.

I need the same info as the manual didnt work. But my FSS light was not on yet even though I did my oil change!

Reset Instructions for all Mercedes models with FSS


Resetting Flexible Service System

Prior to resetting any flexible service systems, turn ignition key off. Close all doors and wait until all instrument displays are off. This may take up to 45 seconds or so.

Stage 1 Maintenance reminder

Model: 170 (SLK) only 6\1\97

1 Turn key to position 1

2 Press button on cluster between fuel gauge and speedometer and hold down

3 Turn key to position 2

4 After 10 seconds, a signal will sound and the maintenance indicator displays 7,500 miles

5 Release button



Stage 2 Basic Flexible Service Systems 1998

Stage 3 Advance Flexible Service Systems 1998

Engines: M-111 (4cyl) M112 (V-6) M113 (V-8) 104 (6cyl Twin cam) 119 (V-8) 120 (12 cyl) 606 (Diesel)

1 Turn electronic key in the steering lock position 2

2 Within 4 seconds, press button "O" twice

3 Note! The present status for days or distance is displayed.

Within 10 seconds, turn electronic key in steering lock to position 0

4 Press and hold down "O", while turning electronic key in steering lock to position 2. The present status for days or distances is displayed once more. Keep holding down button"O"

Note! After approx. 12 seconds a signal beep sounds and the display will show 10,000 miles or 15 000 km for other countries

5 Release button "O"






Active Service System

Models: 203 (C-class 2000) 215 (Coupe)

208 (CLK) 210 (E-Class) all except engine 111

1 Turn electronic key in the steering lock to position 1

2 Operate the system selection button (on steering air bag, left side bottom button) until the complete overview (total mileage and trip odometer) is displayed in the instrument cluster.

3 Operate the arrow button above the selection button until the service symbol and the actual remaining mileage, time, or service exceeded indication is displayed

4 Press the (R) button on the instrument cluster for about 3 seconds until the message "DO YOU WANT TO RESET THE SERVICE INTERVAL?" CONFIRM BY PRESSING THE BUTTON appears

5 Press the button (R) again within 5 seconds

6 The message "Remaining mileage" of 10,000 Miles or 15,000 Km will appear




Active Service System

Models: 220 (S-Class 2000)

1 Turn electronic key in the steering lock to position 1


2 Press systems select/voice control button (on the steering air bag, left side bottom button) as often as needed until basic display (total and trip mileage) is displayed in the instrument cluster

3 Operate the arrow button as many times needed to until the service exceeded message appears

4 Press the (R) button on the instrument cluster for about 3 seconds until the message "DO YOU WANT TO RESET THE SERVICE INTERVAL?" CONFIRM BY PRESSING THE BUTTON appears5 Press the button (R) again within 5 seconds

6 The message "Remaining mileage" of 10,000 Miles or 15,000 Km will appear

Note!

Please pay close attention to engine oil levels. When performing a service, which includes replacing the oil, please follow the manufacture oil quantity recommendation exactly. The oil level sensor can detect under fill or over filled engines by a small amount.

I will add this tidbit:

Follow the instructions in the owner's manual...and do so WITH THE DOOR CLOSED!

Not sure why, but I couldn't reset the FSS on my ML at home because I had the driver's side door open. Later that day while waiting for my wife at a parking lot, it performed the same operations, but this time it worked! I did so with the door closed.
