Guys,
does any one know how much you have consumed litters of gazoline on the below numbers: 1/1: 1/2: R: you can find those numbers on your fuel Meter. |
We need to know what year and model Benz you have in order to provide an answer. Better yet, tell us how many liters the tank holds.
Have a great day, |
Perhaps the best way is for you to do some self testing. Fill your tank unitl it is full, then drive until the fuel meter reaches the 1/2 mark then fill the tank full again. How ever many litres it takes is how much you have used. The R stands for reserve I think, and mean that you are down to the reserve amount. In my 1986 420SEL the reserve is 10 litres, which means I have used almost 90 litres by the time I get to the R.

The gauge in the C280 does not seem to be perfectly linear. Out of a 16.4 gallon tank, it seems that around 5 gallons are gone by the 3/4 mark and about 9 or so at the halfway point. Not all cars are the same.

Thats an interesting hand held palm-pilot computer which I don't think the local MB engineers in Malaysia do keep stock of. All I know of the 300se is that it guzzles gas in town driving, and does excellent mileage on long distance hauls. Infact, the car does approximately 1,000 km a week - and it keeps the engine in perfect condition.
I think the MB engine runs better if driven frequently. Ya? |
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that when your fuel meter says 1/1 it means your tank is full. Like others have said 1/2 and R will mean different things on different models. Just drive it until you reach R then fill it up you'll know how much it takes. I'd wager it'll be constant on a single car. Same with 1/2.
