Injector holders

Hey,

91 300ce

Does it matter how the plastic injector holders are inserted into the intake manifold? And, I was unable to push the injector holders completely into the intake manifold such that they are flush with the manifold. Will this create problems? They are a mm or two out. I thought that inserting the injectors and tightening the injector plates would push the holders in further, but they didnt push them in deep enough.

any thoughts?

New o-rings on outside of holders. Doesn't matter how they go in, and if you have the clamp tightened down properly, it's far enough.

When I changed my injectors I replaced the holders and O rings (and tubes). They kind of snapped in and the holders didn’t seem to press them. Did you replace these items? The parts are not expensive. If they didn’t seat I bet there is a problem. Did they all seem to go in the same? MHO

Yes,
everything is new: injectors, injector seals, injector holders w/ new o-rings. They all went in the same way, but just not 100 percent.

thanks for the replies

Did they pop in? Did they all seat the same? I used a very thin coat of Syl-Glide (silicon gel) and the holders slipped right in and they felt like they seated. If your seals were dry perhaps they didn't seat and the O ring is pinched between the holder and the head. But I am not a professional so be advised...

Did the old injector seals come out? Sounds like you have two seals in there.

Matt.
